These are some photos from our last visit on July 7th to the Conowingo Dam and Susquehanna River trail. We saw lots of Eagles, a few Cormorants, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Black Vultures and a deer.

Bald Eagle on the tower and I believe the other bird is a Black Vulture.

Bald Eagle in flight

An adult Bald Eagle standing next to a juvenile Bald Eagle.

Great Blue Herons were seen up and down the river, great views from the river trail.

More Great Blue Herons, there is a heronry or rookery located in the trees across the river.

Two Eagles and 5 Great Blue Herons, can your find them all?

Black Vultures hang by the parking lot, some were on top of the cars that were parked.

I zoomed in on this white-tailed deer, it was on the island in the middle of the river.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments!

These are some birds and a butterfly from my yard. The Great Blue Heron found my little pond and was seen often sticking it's beak in the pond and eating something. I think it found some tadpoles or frogs to eat. After a few days, it went missing I am hoping it found a way back to it's nest with the other herons.

The juvenile Great Blue Heron takes a walk around the yard and finds my little pond.

The White-breasted Nuthatch is a regular visitor to the feeders.

A Great Spangled Fritillary butterfly on our Bee Balm.

The House Wren can be heard loud and clear even while I am inside my house. It is loud!

American Goldfinches and House Finches are regular visitors to the feeders. Those darn squirrels chewed a hole in my thistle sock.  I had to save some thistle seeds in a different feeder.

The young Great Blue Heron was seen walking all around my yard.  Below it is next to our shed.

The female Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments this past year !

These are some images of birds and critters from my yard and some from our local fire road taken around June 10-15th.

I've been seeing at least three bunnies in the yard, this one has a couple ticks on it's side.

The Goldfinches love the thistle sock.

The Gray Catbird is always looking for the suet.

From our walk on the local fire road, we see the Scarlet Tanager.

A Great Blue Heron on the nest, seen from the fire road.

A Swallowtail butterfly seen near the fire road.

A juvenile Great Blue Heron has been seen in my yard , this time on my deck railing.

The Heron has been seen in my neighbors yard, this heron walked all the way around my house. I saw it pacing in front of the gate like it wanted to come inside the yard. Finally it walked toward the back of the yard, I think it can climb the pine trees branches back into it's nest.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments!

These are all photos either from my yard or our walk on the local fire road.  I have been enjoying the Hummingbirds and lots of Goldfinches. On our fire road walk we have been seeing and hearing lots of Ovenbirds, Scarlet Tanagers and Wood Thrushes. On this day we saw a Summer Tanager.

The male Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Goldfinches

One morning I was on my deck and heard the Great Blue Herons going nuts, around 10 of them took off and flying circles around a juvenile Bald Eagle.

The Summer Tanager seen off the local fire road.

The Summer Tanager flew from one side of the fire to the other side. It is the same bird as in the photo of above just a different tree.

I think this is the American Toad. If not please let me know. I almost stepped on this toad sitting right in the middle of fire road.

Back at home, we took a walk in a local park with my hubby and brother. We saw some awesome birds!
The American Bittern was one of the first birds we saw on the trail at North Point State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland.

One of the many Tree Swallows.

Great Blue Heron

Double-crested Cormorants on the Chesapeake Bay.

Bullfrog in the marshes

Osprey with a fish

How many snakes do you see? It is a warm sunny day so all the snakes, frogs and turtles were out enjoying the sunshine.

Slider turtle line-up

Below we saw the various stages of the Little Blue Heron, the all white juvenile, the mottled juvenile and the adult Little Blue.

The Little Blue Heron

We saw a couple of Bald Eagles too.

Happy Easter everyone!

These are some of my more recent neighborhood and backyard bird photos.  The Great Blue Herons are nesting in the woods across from my driveway, they can be seen daily and heard making their weird noises. I took some shots also from the nearby fire road of the GB Heron on the nest. We have our very own neighborhood heronry.

Great Blue Heron picking off tree branches for it's nest.

Common Mergansers and one Bufflehead Duck on our lake.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday,  I wish everyone a happy day!

I am sharing some photos from our visit to the Blackwater National Refuge in Cambridge Maryland. We stopped at the refuge on the way home from our visit to the beaches.

The Snow Geese were seen in a field just outside the wildlife refuge.

Blackwater NWR, Great Blue Heron

This shot is not clear but I like seeing the wings of the Mallards and on the far right is a Northern Pintail.

Just a pretty view of the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge

A Bald Eagle seen off the wildlife drive.

"Protect wildlife, one can measure the greatness and moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats it's animals."

The Bald Eagles are plentiful at the wildlife refuge.

Some ducks and Tundra Swans.

Another view of the sky and water from the wildlife drive at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
