I have been enjoying the birds right outside my window, the spring birds are arriving and the winter birds are still here as I type this post.  These may not be the clearest photos, they were all taken from my closed dining room window.

Happy Easter everyone!

These are some of my more recent neighborhood and backyard bird photos.  The Great Blue Herons are nesting in the woods across from my driveway, they can be seen daily and heard making their weird noises. I took some shots also from the nearby fire road of the GB Heron on the nest. We have our very own neighborhood heronry.

I am not sure if any of my followers participated with the Great Backyard Bird Count with Cornell Lab of Ornithology, here is the link GBBC  the count took place on Feb 16-19th. Here are some of the birds I saw during my backyard count. It is a fun online citizen-science project.

The Northern Cardinals, I counted 3 males and 2 females at one time.

The Eastern Bluebird does not stop by often but sometimes I catch them sitting in our back yard trees. On this day I saw a pair, maybe checking out my birdhouses.

The Blue Jays were my highest count species of bird. I saw 12  Blue Jays at one time.

A butt shot of the Pine Warbler

On Feb 18th we had about 2inches of snow. The GBBC also asks us to record the weather along with the length of time we watched our backyard birds.  There are three White-throated Sparrows below can you find them?

3 Eastern Bluebirds showed up during my count and checked out the birdhouse.

I am sharing some of my backyard birds and my grand-doggie Nibbles. I hope your enjoy!

January 13th the Blue Jays again were numerous visitors.

Jan 17th another dusting of snow, a squirrel, some Cardinals and Sparrows were on the deck.

Jan. 19th the Red-bellied Woodpecker is a daily visitor, they like the suet, peanuts and peanut suet balls.

Jan 19th, one of the squirrels came to the window, I think he was asking for more bird food.

Jan 12th the Pine Warbler chowing down on some suet.

Chinese Zodiac, it is the Year of the Dog. I am sharing my grand-doggie Nibbles.  This was my son's phone photo. Nibbles, she is a cutie!
